Paris Flegkas

I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Informatics and Telematics Institute of the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH).

I received a Diploma (equivalent to MEng) in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, Greece in 1998, an M.Sc. in Telematics (Communications & Software), and a Ph.D. in Policy-based Quality of Service Management in IP Networks from the University of Surrey, UK in 1999 and 2005 respectively.

In 2006, I moved back to my hometown Volos, a city in the eastern region of Thessaly in central Greece, where I joined the University of Thessaly and became an adjunct lecturer. Before that, I lived in Guildford, a town in the Surrey county, UK for 7 years (1998-2005) where I undertook my postgraduate studies in the University of Surrey and joined the Networks Group headed by Prof. George Pavlou.

From 2001 to 2005, I was a Research Fellow at the Centre for Communication Systems Research (CCSR), University of Surrey, working on European and U.K. national research projects related to QoS Management and Traffic Engineering of DiffServ IP Networks focusing on Policy-based (re-)dimensioning and dynamic resource management and conflict analysis. From 2009, I have been involved in many Greek national and European research projects dealing with areas related to information-centric future internet architectures following the publish/subscribe paradigm and self-*, autonomic management of fixed and wireless networks.
